National Treasury has released a Media Statement with an update on the revised 2023 Draft Revenue Laws Amendment Bill that will allow for the implementation of a Two-Pot system from 1 March 2024. Comment on this revised Bill has now been requested and once received and considered, the Bill will be passed. Once the Bill is passed your Fund will have to submit rule amendments to the FSCA in order to allow for the implementation of this new Two-Pot system.
Sec 13A Compliance - Conduct Standard 1 of 2023
Effective from the 20 February 2023, employers will be required to provide information as listed below for each member. Employers will receive a form from the Fund for members to complete to update their personal information and this information must be loaded onto the employers’ payroll systems and updated monthly by employers.

Data Breach Notification in Accordance with Section 22 Of the Protection of Personal Information Act
We hereby notify you that on 19 November 2021, the Fund's administrator advised us that a data breach had occurred on the Benefit Counsellor application utilised by members. Benefit statement information has been accessed by an unauthorised third party who hacked into the Benefit Counsellor application. Directly, as a result of hereof, we have reasonable grounds to believe that your personal information, in particular your 2020 benefit statements, has been accessed and acquired by an unauthorised third party. We have no details yet of the reasons for this breach and what the information will be used for.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure you of our continued support and attention on implementing remedial action to avoid any further loss or inconvenience to you. Should we receive further information we will communicate further with you.
