The TSRF was built to serve one industry: road freight and transport. As the fund continues to grow and evolve, members are reminded that their retirement security remains at the heart of everything TSRF does.
As an employer participating in the TSRF, you are required by law to provide minimum basic information for each of your employees (members). One of the compulsory requirements is a full physical residential address for every member. This requirement applies equally to all members, whether they live in a formal urban area, a township extension, a stand/plot, a rural village, or an informal settlement.
TSRF is pleased to announce the appointment of Mongezi Ngcobo as its new Deputy Principal Officer, effective 01 May 1 2025. Mongezi brings over a decade of experience in retirement fund accounting, administration, and governance, with a passion for transformation, ethical leadership, and fostering innovation. The Fund looks forward to his valuable contributions in ensuring members feel valued and empowered.
SARS Claim Rejections Due to Personal Information Mismatch
We would like to inform you that a number of claims have recently been rejected by the South African Revenue Service (SARS) due to a change made to their system. SARS now requires that any personal details on a member's claim form is a 100% match to the details on their SARS record. This refers to the personal details used by the member when initially registering with SARS.
We are working on a solution to resubmit the rejected claims and we hope to resolve this quite soon.
Please also note that this is not an issue unique to Salt Employee Benefits, it is impacting the entire retirement fund industry.
Thank you for your patience!

Dear TSRF Members
Please be informed that all members aged 65 and older are not covered for risk benefits, which include disability and death cover. Funeral cover however, is provided under the age of 70.
This means that once you reach the age of 65, these benefits will no longer apply to you. We encourage members approaching this age to review their financial planning and consider alternative insurance options if needed.
